December is slowly approaching, and with it, the desire to bring magic into the home.
But what if, this year, we chose to slow down a little?
To prepare for Christmas differently, focusing on simple, creative moments rooted in nature?

Here are  5 gentle and natural activities  to share with children aged 0-6 to wait for Christmas while cultivating beauty, patience and gratitude.

1. Create decorations with dried orange slices

A timeless classic!
Slice some oranges, place them in a low oven for a few hours, and let the magic happen.
Their fragrance will fill your home and bring warmth and sweetness to your tree.
→  This activity is part of the “Decorating Your Tree Naturally” ritual in the Yule workbook.

2.Making a natural crown

Gather branches, pinecones, and a few dried leaves during a walk in the woods.
Assemble them on a metal or wooden hoop: your wreath will symbolize  the cycle of life, the returning light, and the warmth of home.
→  The complete symbolism and step-by-step instructions are included in the Yule workbook.

Treat yourself to a different kind of Christmas—no overconsumption, no rush. These nature-based, Yule-inspired activities help you recreate warmth, light, and sharing in the heart of the cold season. Craft, contemplate, breathe, and reconnect with the magic of the present moment. An invitation to slow down and cultivate gratitude with your children.

3. Light the solstice candle

On December 21st, take a moment as a family to  welcome the return of the light .
Light a white or gold candle and share your intentions for the new year.
It’s a small ritual that soothes children and helps adults find their center.

4. A moment of yoga or winter relaxation

In this fast-paced world, giving your body a moment of relaxation is a gift.
Stretch, breathe, listen to soft music…
In the Yule notebook, a page titled “Yoga and Preparation for the Coming Month” guides you in transforming this moment into a ritual of calm and centering.

5. Give to the next person

Creating magic is also about sharing it.
Offer a small handmade craft, a card, a homemade cookie, or simply a smile to someone who needs it.
That’s the true spirit of Yule:  sharing, warmth, and humanity.

While waiting for Christmas, it’s not about doing more, but about doing better—with heart and simplicity.
Every gesture, every activity becomes a sweet memory for our children.
